About

We bring the knowledge and opportunities that drone technology offers to local communities in Senegal.

We are a Senegalese expert center that focuses on solving social challenges using appropriate robotics & AI technologies in a sustainable, meaningful, and responsible manner. In the ever-changing socio-economic context of Senegal, having accurate data facilitates decision-making at many distinct levels. With drones and robotics, we can respond effectively to efforts related to natural disaster response, biodiversity conservation, agriculture, delivery of medication in remote areas, land use planning and surveillance in natural parks.

Services

We provide drone certification training, strengthen knowledge in the acquisition and processing of field data from drone surveys and carry out pilot projects in various sectors such as environment, agriculture, public health, creating job opportunities for youth and isolated populations.

Local Capacity Building

We provide hands-on drone training for professionals working in various fields such as public health, education, and engineering. We support them with their projects in Senegal and West Africa.

Knowledge Exchange

We organize workshops and open house events to raise awareness of drone technology. We produce reports, blog posts, use cases on our activities and participate in webinars, conferences, hackathons.

Ecosystem Building & Facilitation

In collaboration with our local partners, we work on drone mapping, drone data acquisition and analysis for disaster response, cargo drone solution, land management, nature conservation and agriculture.

Sector Applications & Projects

We bring together local stakeholders through partnerships and train them on the appropriate use of drones. We participate in seminars and workshops by our partners to facilitate the local ecosystem.

Advocacy & Policy Support

We collaborate with the local CAA and the Ministry of Digital Economy to develop an adequate framework of regulations concerning the use of drones. And we actively participate in working groups and discussion forums to advance drone regulations and policies in Senegal and the region.

Youth/STEM Programs

We implement Xamal Drone School, a youth program to engage with youth and encourage them to pursue careers in STEM fields. This program targets all students despite their level of academic performance and education.

Entrepreneurship Programs

We have launched Sandaga Drone, our entrepreneurship program for drone services in Senegal. The participants of our entrepreneurship program are trained and fully supported to start their own business.

Assessments & Advisory

We do impact assessment and provide advisory services to local clients and stakeholders to help them best adapt the use of drones and robotics solutions into their daily workflow and solve local challenges.
