This Privacy Policy describes the ways in which Flying Labs (“we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, and discloses information about you obtained through flyinglabs.org; our Google Group, Google Forms, Webinars, Online Training and all other Flying Labs websites or online services that link to this policy (collectively, the “Site”) as a user of the Site. By using the Site, you consent to the processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy, now and as amended by us.
Note that the Flying Labs Network is co-created with and facilitated by WeRobotics. Flying Labs is a registered service mark of WeRobotics Inc.
What information do we collect?
Information You Provide – We collect any information that you provide when you use the Site, including when you create an account, upload information or documents; participate in the Site, sign up to receive our electronic newsletters, or otherwise contact us with a question, comment, or request. This can include, but is not limited to, (a) your name, contact information, username, password, and other registration information; (b) personally identifiable information including household information, and payment card information; (c) information you provide when you upload data to the Site; and (d) information you provide us when you contact us.
The information you provide may also include information that you as a user of the Site provide about other individuals. Please note that information about such other individuals is used by us only as necessary to perform our work and we do not use or disclose the information for marketing or promotional purposes or for other discretionary purposes.
You represent that you have any required permissions to collect and provide the data you are uploading to the Site and that you are in compliance with applicable laws regarding such data.
Information Automatically Collected From You – We may automatically collect certain technical information from your computer when you use the Site, such as your IP address, your browser type, your operating system, the pages you view on the Site, the pages you view immediately before and after you access the Site, and the search terms you enter on the Site.
This information allows us to recognize you if you return to the Site using the same computer, or mobile device, and to improve the Site and the services we provide. We and our service providers may collect this information using “cookies,” which are small text files that the Site saves on your computer using your web browser and accesses when you return, or similar technologies.
How do we use this information?
We may use the information we collect for a number of purposes, including, but not limited to:
- creating and providing reports and information on our work and projects;

In addition, we may share aggregate reports on user demographics and traffic patterns, as well as de-identified information, with third parties.
The Site also may contain links to websites published by third parties. You acknowledge and agree that we are not responsible for the collection and use of your information by such websites that are not under our control. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of each website you visit.
Cookies and tracking technologies
Matomo Analytics
Our goal is to provide the best possible experience to you when you visit the Site all the while respecting your privacy. We do not process any PPI (Personally Identifiable Information) and do not use cookies. We only collect and process following information when you visit our website:
- The website from which you visited us from
- The parts of the Site you visit
- The date and duration of your visit
- Your anonymised IP address
- Information from the device (device type, operating system, screen resolution, language, country you are located in, and web browser type) you used during your visit
- And more in accordance to GRDP
We process and analyze the usage data mentioned above with Matomo Analytics for statistical purposes only, with the goal to improve our website and identify and stop any misuse of the website. You may opt-out from these analytics at any time on the Site but this will also prevent us from creating a better experience for you and other users.
YouTube Videos
The Site uses embedded YouTube videos to provide informative and engaging content. The embedded videos are hosted on YouTube, a service provided by Google LLC. By accessing and interacting with these embedded videos, you are subject to Google's privacy policy, in addition to the policies outlined in this section.
When you play an embedded YouTube video on the Site, certain information may be collected and processed by Google. This information includes but is not limited to:
- Your IP address
- Browser type and settings
- Date and time of access
- Cookie data

YouTube may use cookies and other tracking technologies when you interact with the embedded videos. We do not have control over the cookies set by YouTube, and you may refer to Google's Privacy & Terms for details on their cookie policy.
Third-Party links
The Site contains links to third-party websites. We have no control over the content or privacy policies of these sites and encourage you to review their policies before providing any personal information.
Where is this information stored?
Information collected through the Site will be processed in and subject to the laws of the United States, which may not provide the same level protection for your personal information as your home country, and may be available to the United States government or its agencies under a lawful order made in the United States. In addition, we may transfer and store your information outside the United States to our affiliates, business partners, and service providers located in other countries that may not be your home country. By using the Site, you consent to such transfer to, and processing in, the United States or other countries.
How is your information secured?
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to safeguard the information collected by the Site. However, no information system can be 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information. Moreover, we are not responsible for the security of information you transmit to the Site over networks that we do not control, including the Internet and wireless networks.
Your choices
If your contact information changes, if you no longer wish to receive communications from us or to have us share your information with third parties, or if you wish to inquire about the information we have collected about you, please submit a request to humans@werobotics.org. If you do not want the Site to collect information through the use of cookies, you can set the Site’s cookie consent banner options accordingly or set your web browser to reject cookies from the Site. Each browser is different, so you should check your browser’s “Help” menu to learn how to change your cookie preferences. If you reject or block cookies from the Site, however, the Site may not function as intended.
Children’s information
The Site is not directed to, nor do we knowingly collect information from, children under the age of 13. If you become aware that your child or any child under your care has provided us with information without your consent, please contact us at humans@werobotics.org.
