Our mission is to drive transformative progress in the development sectors by spearheading innovative projects.

Through the strategic utilization of emerging technologies, we create innovative solutions that enhance the capacities of companies and institutions in the sectors of infrastructure, agriculture, education, transportation, and the environment, thereby contributing to the economic development and social well-being of the Dominican Republic.

Our goal is to contribute locally and globally to a mind-shift in rethinking the use of emerging technologies in the international development space.

Services

Dedicated to fostering education, research, and project development, we support students and professionals in developing initiatives using drone technology and provide specialized drone training.

We also offer opportunities for external partnerships with academic collaborators, government partners, and organizations to promote technological innovation and safety operations in the Dominican Republic.

Discover our services:

Local Capacity Building

We provide hands-on drone hardware and software training for different drone platforms and support students in developing novel projects. Our activities are geared towards promoting gender balance in the drone industry. We advance these efforts by providing special programs for women to close the widening gender gap.

Knowledge Exchange

We organize events and participate in demonstrations to show the numerous applications of drones for social good. Through the Global Flying Labs Network, we engage with drone professionals in 40 countries to develop and advance innovative, collaborative approaches for systemic change.

Ecosystem Building & Facilitation

We organize, coordinate, and manage pilot projects addressing challenges in the humanitarian, agriculture, conservation, development, and health sectors. We also support local NGOs and institutions with advice on using robotics for their activities.

Sector Applications & Projects

We are focused on strengthening awareness and nurturing innovative talents in our communities. We do this by organizing events such as STEM congresses and drone exhibitions to bring together drone professionals and enthusiasts.

Advocacy & Policy Support

We collaborate with the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (IDAC), supporting initiatives related to the regulatory framework for using drones in the Dominican Republic. We participate in academic activities and working groups contributing to the safe operation of drones in the country, facilitating the industry’s continuous growth.

Youth/STEM Programs

Committed to engaging the next generation of drone professionals, we support students by providing hands-on experience in a comprehensive internship program. We also welcome local school children to the Drone Innovation Center facilities and provide training and guided tours to inspire them to pursue careers in drones, robotics, and STEM.
