Zimbabwe Flying Labs is proud to continue its partnership with DataCamp through the DataCamp Donates initiative, now entering its second year

DataCamp is dedicated to bridging the global data skills gap by equipping learners with the tools needed to make better, data-driven decisions. Their online platform offers a range of interactive courses covering essential topics like Python, R, SQL, and machine learning, empowering students and professionals alike to advance their careers and innovate in their fields.

In the 2023–2024 cohort, 40 learners enrolled in various data-related courses, making significant strides in their understanding of data science.

Grace, one of our standout participants, shared her transformative experience with DataCamp's Big Data with PySpark course. This program introduced her to Apache Spark and its applications in handling large-scale, distributed datasets. She mastered creating resilient distributed data frames, executing complex dataframe operations, and even explored machine learning algorithms for classification, regression, clustering, and collaborative filtering. Her journey exemplifies the impact of data science education on both individuals and the broader community.

Vimbainaishe, another scholarship recipient, took the Data Science with Python track. She shares her experience below.

By partnering with DataCamp, Zimbabwe Flying Labs is not just providing access to learning resources—we’re unlocking doors to new opportunities. Through scholarships and hands-on workshops, we're enabling learners like Grace and Vimbainaishe to gain the skills needed to make data-driven decisions, solve real-world problems, and lead in an increasingly digital world.

As we move into the 2024–2025 academic year, we’re thrilled to announce that 50 learners have been awarded scholarships, with a focus on key learning areas such as AI, machine learning, and continued studies in data science and analytics. Zimbabwe Flying Labs remains committed to supporting these learners in their educational journeys, ensuring that they have the knowledge and tools to succeed. We look forward to more inspiring stories as our learners continue to grow, innovate, and contribute to the future of technology and data in Zimbabwe.
