By Cameroon Flying Labs

The months of October and November 2025 were a truly inspiring time for Transfer Multisort Electronics (TME) Education, Robotsave Education, Cameroon Flying Labs, and Tassah Academy Education. These weeks were filled with mentorship, hands-on workshops, and powerful international teamwork, all focused on one goal: preparing Team Cameroon for the First Global Robotics Competition (FGC) 2025 in Panama, themed “Eco Équilibrium.”

Building the Team

As the school year ended, a special intensive training program was launched for students from Tassah Academy Complex Secondary School who were selected to represent Cameroon at FGC 2025. The final team was made up of five young innovators: three boys and two girls — a gender balance that reflects our commitment to inclusion and equality in STEM. We believe girls should not only participate in technology but lead boldly within it.

16 Days of Creativity, Engineering, and Problem-Solving

From October 13th to November 1st, students spent 16 intensive days and nights building, testing, and refining their ideas at Tassah Academy and later in Panama City. The workshops blended creativity with technical practice, helping students apply concepts learned throughout earlier TME Education robotics activities.

Core workshop activities included:

  • Designing and building the robot’s mechanical systems
  • Programming movement and automation functions
  • Testing the robot on the field, redesigning parts, and refining scoring strategies.

Before travel, the team joined hands to dismantle the robot for safe air transport.

Growing Through Practice: Skills That Go Beyond Robotics

At Tassah Academy, we carefully selected motivated freshmen who had previously shown exceptional talent and curiosity. Throughout the workshops, the students learned how to collaborate under pressure, troubleshoot technical issues, and turn theory into real innovation. Every challenge became a lesson that strengthened their confidence and resilience.

FGC Panama 2025

Even with major travel delays, Team Cameroon arrived in Panama determined to compete. With support from FGC technical staff and alliance partners from Mexico, Venezuela, and Panama, the team reassembled and improved their robot in record time.

Our hard work paid off: Team Cameroon won the Gold Medal in the Winning Alliance, Cameroon’s first-ever victory at FGC!

Mentorship Across Borders

Led by Cameroon Flying Labs Coordinator Dessap Loïc, along with Fofang Janet, Asafor, Nsoh, Samba, and Mataquai, the mentorship team provided the students with unwavering technical guidance and emotional support. Collaboration with other African teams from Kenya, Mauritania, Togo, and Angola helped broaden the students’ cultural and technical perspectives.

Key Outcomes and Achievements

  • Gold Medal - Winning Alliance (FGC Panama 2025)
  • Five empowered students (including two girls) equipped with advanced robotics and coding skills
  • Stronger leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities
  • Greater visibility for Cameroon in the global STEM community
  • Reinforcement of TME Education’s mission to empower youth through technology

Conclusion

Team Cameroon’s journey to FGC Panama 2025 is a testament to what African youth can achieve when given mentorship, tools, and trust. TME Education, Robotsave Education, Cameroon Flying Labs, and Tassah Academy remain committed to expanding STEM opportunities, boosting girls’ participation, and nurturing Africa’s next generation of innovators.

Together, we are not only building robots: We are shaping future leaders, problem-solvers, and change-makers for Cameroon, Africa, and the world.
