In Holcá, a Maya community of 600 people used drones and centuries of ancestral knowledge to find the perfect home for their stingless bees.

Holcá is a small locality of about 600 people in the Municipality of Espita, Yucatán. Like many Maya communities, it carries centuries of knowledge about the land, the forest, and the bees that live in both. That knowledge is not a footnote to this project — it is its foundation.
The work was made possible through the partnership of Fundación Haciendas del Mundo Maya ( FHMM ), an organization that had already built deep trust with Holcá through years of community engagement.
