Camp Bark Biiga : De jeunes promoteurs de paix prennent leur envol avec le Burkina Faso Flying Labs

Dans un contexte où la technologie transforme notre monde à un rythme effréné, le Burkina Faso Flying Labs s'engage à former la prochaine génération d'innovateurs. En juillet 2024, lors du camp de la paix Bark Biiga, une trentaine de jeunes ont été initiés à la technologie drone, ouvrant ainsi de nouvelles perspectives pour leur avenir et celui de leur communauté. 

Le camp de la paix Bark Biiga : un tremplin vers l'innovation

Face à la menace terroriste, le Burkina Faso a besoin de bâtisseurs de paix. Le camp Bark Biiga, initié par REFERENCES et LA PEPINIERE DU BURKIND’LIM, forme dès le plus jeune âge des citoyens engagés pour un avenir pacifique en réponse à la lutte contre le terrorisme. Ce camp vise à inculquer dès le plus jeune âge des valeurs de non-violence, d’empathie et de cohésion sociale.

Pour renforcer cette initiative, le Burkina Faso Flying Labs, en partenariat cette coalition d’organisations a animé en juillet 2024 un atelier d’initiation à la technologie drone dans le cadre du camp de la paix Bark Biiga. Ce choix stratégique a permis d'allier formation technologique et promotion de la paix , offrant ainsi aux jeunes participants une expérience d’exploration de la technologie. En leur donnant les clés de la technologie drone, nous leur avons ouvert de nouvelles perspectives et les avons encouragés à devenir les acteurs du changement.

Immersion dans le monde des drones : de la théorie à la pratique

Au cours de cet atelier, les jeunes ont pu plonger au cœur de la technologie drone. Des séances théoriques ont permis d'aborder les différentes composantes d’un drone et les fondamentaux du pilotage responsable et éthique. Mais c'est surtout lors des ateliers pratiques que l'enthousiasme des participants a été palpable. Munis de radiocommandes, ils ont pu piloter eux-mêmes des drones DJI Phantom 4 et DJI Tello et découvrir les sensations de vol. Cette expérience leur a permis de développer leur sens de l'orientation et de la coordination.

Les drones au service du développement durable : un avenir prometteur

Au-delà de l'aspect ludique, cet atelier avait pour objectif de sensibiliser les jeunes aux enjeux du développement durable et de leur montrer comment les drones peuvent être utilisés pour répondre à des défis concrets. Des applications concrètes ont été présentées, telles que la surveillance environnementale, l'agriculture de précision ou la cartographie et la thermographie. Les participants ont ainsi pu prendre conscience du potentiel de cette technologie pour améliorer la vie des populations.

Camp Bark Biiga: Young Peace Promoters Take Flight with Burkina Faso Flying Labs

As technology transforms our world at a breakneck pace, Burkina Faso Flying Labs is committed to training the next generation of innovators. In July 2024, during the Bark Biiga peace camp, some 30 young people were introduced to drone technology, opening up new prospects for their future and that of their community. 

The Bark Biiga peace camp: A springboard for innovation

In the face of the terrorist threat, Burkina Faso needs peace builders. The Bark Biiga peace camp, initiated by REFERENCES and LA PEPINIERE DU BURKIND'LIM, trains citizens from an early age who are committed to a peaceful future in response to the fight against terrorism. The camp aims to instill the values of non-violence, empathy and social cohesion from an early age.

To reinforce this initiative, Burkina Faso Flying Labs, in partnership with this coalition of organizations, ran a drone technology initiation workshop as part of the Bark Biiga peace camp in July 2024. This strategic choice made it possible to combine technological training and peace promotion, offering young participants an experience in exploring technology. By giving them the keys to drone technology, we opened up new perspectives and encouraged them to become agents of change.

Immersion in the world of drones: From theory to practice

During this workshop, the young people were able to dive right into the heart of drone technology. Theoretical sessions covered the various components of a drone and the fundamentals of responsible and ethical piloting. But it was during the practical workshops that the enthusiasm of the participants was most palpable. Equipped with radio controls, they were able to pilot DJI Phantom 4 and DJI Tello drones themselves, and discover the thrill of flight. This experience enabled them to develop their sense of orientation and coordination.

Drones for sustainable development: A promising future

Beyond the fun aspect, the aim of this workshop was to raise young people's awareness of sustainable development issues and show them how drones can be used to meet concrete challenges. Concrete applications were presented, such as environmental monitoring, precision farming, mapping and thermography. Participants were able to appreciate the potential of this technology to improve people's lives.
