At Bangladesh Flying Labs, our mission is to make drone technology more accessible and inspire young minds across Bangladesh. While we continue to host workshops and talks at our office, partner institutions, and online platforms, we are also exploring new ways to engage with students nationwide. One of these paths is through collaboration with organizations that already work closely with young learners.
This year, we were proud to partner with one of the country’s most prestigious academic initiatives—the Bangladesh Mathematical Olympiad (BdMO). Now in its 23rd year, BdMO is one of the oldest and most respected student competitions in Bangladesh, attracting tens of thousands of participants each year. In 2025, over 60,000 students registered for the Olympiad. After competing in three rigorous rounds, around 1,400 students were selected for the National Math Olympiad, held in Dhaka.
Bangladesh Flying Labs had the opportunity to conduct two sessions during the national event. The event days were February 9-10, 2025. On the first day, we organized an open drone demonstration at the host school’s playground. Over 400 students gathered to watch and interact with multiple types of drones. For many, this was their first hands-on drone experience—they were able to control and fly drones under the guidance of our mentors.

The next day, we held a more in-depth classroom workshop for a group of 150+ selected students. This session introduced drone programming, basic flight mechanics, and real-world applications of drone technology. The energy in the room was incredible: students asked thoughtful questions and showed deep interest in how drones could be used for problem-solving in areas like agriculture, disaster management, and environmental monitoring.

The feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive. Students were excited, curious, and eager to learn more. Teachers from different schools approached us to request similar workshops at their own institutions. For us, it was a truly rewarding experience to see so many young minds engaging with cutting-edge technology.

This collaboration with BdMO reaffirmed our belief in partnership-driven outreach. Moving forward, we plan to work more closely with organizations that serve youth and students to bring drone education to every corner of Bangladesh. Whether it’s through STEM competitions, school programs, or festivals, we’ll continue to inspire the next generation with the power of technology.
