This December, all roads lead to Montego Bay, where Jamaica Flying Labs, WeRobotics, and Esri, with the strategic support of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) and the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) will be bringing together leaders from across the Caribbean and Central America for a powerful regional gathering.

Building on the impact of the of the Southern African Drones, AI and GIS for Disaster Risk Management Conference and Workshop 2024, the Drones, AI and GIS for Disaster Risk Management Conference 2025 – Caribbean and Central America Edition promises three days of connection, collaboration, and co-creation in the face of escalating climate risks.

As hurricanes, floods, landslides, and other hazards become more frequent and severe, the need for effective, locally driven disaster preparedness and response systems has never been greater. This gathering will explore how drone technology, artificial intelligence, and geospatial tools can be used not only to respond to emergencies but also to anticipate and prevent them, strengthening resilience from the ground up.

From 2nd to 4th December, participants will dive into timely topics such as improving early warning systems, enhancing emergency response, guiding infrastructure and resilience planning, and building long-term local capacity. With a strong emphasis on local expertise, the conference will spotlight real-world case studies, hands-on demos, and inclusive conversations about what it takes to lead disaster risk reduction in today’s complex and fast-changing environment.

Whether you're working in government, academia, humanitarian response, development, or the private sector, this is your chance to connect with peers across the region, exchange insights, and help shape the future of disaster risk management in the Caribbean and Central America.

Our growing list of sponsors like Esri, Fugro, GeoTechVision, and Spatial Innovision are helping us fund local capacity building, field demos, and scholarship seats for students.

We especially invite participation from:

  • National Disaster Management Agencies (NDMAs)
  • Geospatial professionals and enthusiasts
  • Local civil society organizations (NGOs, NPOs, development organizations, etc.)
  • Academic researchers and students
  • Private sector representatives focused on climate, insurance, and ESG
