Jonas Macuacue
Airman Pilot (Pilav)

Jonas Feleciano Macuacue is an Airman Pilot (Pilav) of the Armed Defence Forces of Mozambique (FADM), graduated from the Military Academy Marechal Samora Machel (AMMSM) in military sciences, specialist in aeronautical piloting, with extensive knowledge in aeronautical sciences and extensive experience in piloting manned aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles (Drones) and command and leadership. Jonas began his aeronautical experience in 2013 and in 2016 completed the specialization as Pilot Airman.
Since 2017 holds the position of Operations Officer at the Aviation Practical School (EPA), coordinates flight activities and EPA as a unit, participates since then in several aeronautical and pedagogical courses with emphasis on "teaching methodology" in 2017 "instrument flight course" in 2018, "theoretical instruction of FTB aircraft" in 2019. Since 2018, he has been teaching theoretical classes in various areas of aeronautical knowledge with emphasis on Flight Safety, Air Navigation, Flight Physiology, aeronautical legislation, aircraft operation, instruments and coordinating simulated flights.
Jonas, was part of the first phase of the largest search and rescue exercise using drones, which is being carried out by the University of Portsmouth, UK, where he exchanged experience with members of the National Institute for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (INGD), Mozambique's National Institute of Civil Aviation (IACM), United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), National Disaster Management Authority of Eswatine, National
Republican Guard (GNR) of Portugal, Global Medic of Canada, Institute of Search and Rescue (ISAR) of the United Kingdom, Ministry of the Interior and other institutions;
Since his training as a drone pilot, Jonas has contributed to the response to tropical cyclones GOMBE, ANA, FREDDY, and to flooding events that occurred throughout Mozambique, as part of the rapid damage assessment and search and rescue teams using drones.
