Felix Washon
Communications & International Humanitarian Law Coordinator
Felix Washon is the Communications Coordinator for the Malawi Red Cross Society (MRCS), where he has served since 2015 specializing in content development, social media management, crisis communication, public relations, and training facilitation. Based in Lilongwe, he holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media Studies from Pentecostal Life University (2015–2018). Felix also manages the International Humanitarian Law file. He is the Security Focal person for national society and in charge of Protocol.
Washon's key achievements include successfully coordinating the one-year Safer Access Framework Communication project for MRCS in partnership with the Finnish Red Cross and ICRC, engaging security forces to grant MRCS safe access to operate even during conflict situations like the 2020 General Elections Rerun, and training 72 staff and volunteers in Safer Access Framework Communication across all MRCS divisions He also advocates for responsible reporting during disasters and strengthens the relationship between MRCS and Malawi's media
