Using Drones & AI for Social Good: Meet Togo Flying Labs

A group of drone experts focused on using robotics and artificial intelligence for social good is joining the global Flying Labs Network as Togo Flying Labs. Sponsored and trained by Senegal Flying Labs, the Togo Flying Labs team is driven by the belief that drones and other robots can help address many pressing social issues affecting local communities in Togo.

One core focus of the Flying Labs Network is to connect its growing network with strategic partners, leading drone and robotics companies, software development firms, and international organizations. These connections between partners, other Flying Labs, and WeRobotics' drone and outreach experts create new synergies and shared learning from the expertise and experience of the global network.

At the local and national levels, Togo Flying Labs raises awareness of drone technology and its potential applications in Togo. Through projects like mapping the Togolese coastline to demonstrate climate change's impact on coastal communities and mapping farms to improve crop yields, Togo Flying Labs hopes to demonstrate the value of drone technology in addressing social issues and driving development in the country.

Togo Flying Labs has already conducted several successful projects, including mapping a maize plot to optimize fertilizer application and providing UAS training to government agencies to develop regulatory frameworks for drone usage. The success of these projects can be attributed to the team's expertise and equipment and their commitment to respecting flight rules and regulations.

Togo Flying Labs is making significant strides in using drone technology for social good. By collaborating with other Flying Labs and strategic partners, the team hopes to continue expanding their impact and driving development in the country.
