Morocco Flying Labs Members Awarded in International Meeting
The prize aims to promote the partnership between the university and the productive sector, particularly scientific research and technological transfer.

The Ministry of National Education, Professional Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research (MENFPESRS) and the Ministry of Industry, Investment, Trade and Digital Economy (MIICEN) launched in partnership with the Association for Studies and Research for Development (AERED), the 6th edition of the Competitiveness Prize, University-EntreprisePartnership Prize (PPUE) -2019 during the sixth international meeting of Dakhla which organized by the Association for Studies and Research for Development (AERED), from December 4-8, 2019.
The Competitiveness Prize, University-Enterprise Partnership Prize aims to promote and encourage the partnership between the university and the productive sector, in particular concerning the promotion of scientific research and technological transfer. Morocco Flying Labs, formed by the members of the LSE2I Laboratory of ENSAO, participated in the SKYNET project, which was developed in collaboration with the Moroccan start-up ATLAN Space.
The SKYNET project spans the following axes:
- Improvements to flight planning algorithms used by ATLAN Space;
- Improvements to computer vision techniques for better recognition and identification of objects in real-time from aerial devices; and
- Other advances in the field of robotics.
ATLAN Space supports the work of the SKYNET project mainly by providing technical and human resources, as well as by using its commercial technology as a development base.
LSE2I and ATLAN Space have also established the SKYNET project as the primary platform for testing and validation of new technologies developed before they are put on the world market. The Skynet project clarified that the impact on strengthening the university-enterprise relationship was Morocco Flying Labs creation that is important; this candidature has obtained the second prize.
