Schools in Uganda have embraced different programs and strategies to keep their students up-to-date with science and technology trends and acquire AI, STEM, and robotics skills. Uganda Flying Labs is working with schools like The North Green Schools (TNGS) to enhance and establish their STEM and robotics clubs to make this even more effective.

The students are enthusiastic about it and are always looking forward to their next fun session in their STEM and Robotics club. To them, it’s a time of getting their innovative minds to work and seeing their wild imaginations come to life by the things they can come up with, especially using the Twin Science Robotics kits in a safe, fun, and playful environment. Each student learns through hands-on experiences with the Twin Science Kits. They also learned about different up-to-date technology advancements. Finally, they have an opportunity to think creatively and innovatively about the possible improvements to these technologies to solve problems in their communities.

Their interaction with the Twin Robotic kits has sparked their imagination into problem-solving as they try out the different STEM experiments for social good. At one of the schools where Uganda Flying Labs is involved in enhancing the STEM and Robotics club, the experience is particularly thrilling. New students keep signing up to be a part of the club after watching from the window what happens in the STEM/Robotics club or after hearing stories from their friends who already signed up about how they get a chance to bring their imaginations to life through STEM and other science experiments.

In interaction with different learners who signed up for the Robotics and STEM club at one of the Schools located in a part of the city centers in Kampala, it was interesting getting to know their expectations and why they signed up for the club. Many of them want to develop their inventions to solve a particular problem in society. Each one was specific about the challenge they wanted to solve in their communities, and these range from security, health, entertainment, transport and logistics, and music, among many others. It was exciting for them to know that they had a chance to actualize their imaginations with the STEM and Robotics club at the school, giving the students hope for it. The students are eager to step into the world of science, acquiring the knowledge and skill that will be useful and applicable beyond the classroom. Furthermore, it allows them to engage in discovery learning and innovative and logical thinking for problem-solving in society.

Working with the students has broadened our view of science and technology here at Uganda Flying Labs. Each learner who has been a part of this program has shown that they possess a deep well of potential through their imaginations. Their curiosity gives them energy and keeps them even more creative and innovative.

We look forward to the different innovations they will be coming up with at the end of the projects, a task that even the students are looking forward to.

As Uganda Flying Labs, we are thrilled to make a breakthrough into youth robotics after a long spell of COVID-19 lockdowns. To ice it all, we are rejuvenated to work with the youth!
