The Business Model with Drones training program aimed to encourage young people to explore entrepreneurial opportunities in drone services.
March 25th, 2025
At Bolivia Flying Labs, we recognize that training is a cornerstone of our mission to empower local communities through the use of drone technology. By providing accessible and relevant educational opportunities, we are investing in the development of future generations, fostering inclusive participation, and facilitating the shared knowledge that drives community empowerment.
The Business Model with Drones training program took place on October 19th and 20th, 2024, at the Fundación Trabajo Empresa in Bolivia. Participants from the municipalities of El Torno, Cabezas, and Buena Vista were present. This initiative was made possible through the Empodera-T Project, with the goal of encouraging young people to explore entrepreneurial opportunities in drone services.
The first day of the workshop provided an introduction to the world of drones, covering regulations and safety considerations. Participants then explored business opportunities with drones, examining both national and international case studies of successful drone technology implementation.
The concept of Minimum Viable Product (MVP) was introduced, along with its importance in entrepreneurship and examples of drone-based MVPs. Participants formed teams and worked on developing their own business models using the Business Model Canvas B tool. The day concluded with a session on effective communication and pitching business ideas.
On the second day, teams focused on completing their business models with individual mentoring support. They then prepared final presentations, which were delivered and recorded in a 5-minute pitch format.
This training program directly benefits young people in Bolivia by equipping them with the skills and knowledge to explore entrepreneurial opportunities in the growing drone services sector. By carving out spaces for innovation and providing practical guidance, the program contributes to local economic development and empowers participants to become agents of change in their communities.
One of the challenges faced during the program was the limited attendance from Buena Vista due to road blockades caused by political conflicts. This highlights the importance of adapting to unforeseen circumstances as well as the need for ongoing support to ensure inclusivity and accessibility in future training initiatives.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Empodera-T Project and Fundación Trabajo Empresa for their invaluable partnership in making this training program a success. We also thank the participants for their enthusiasm and dedication.
