Champions of NERC 2026: Pakistan Flying Labs and Headstart School Takes the Overall Championship

More than 300 teams showed up this year — schools, colleges, and universities from across Pakistan, all of them good, many of them hungry for the same title. When the dust settled, it was  Pakistan Flying Labs, hosted by Headstart School standing at the top as Overall Champion of NERC 2026. It's the kind of result you don't quite believe until you're holding the trophy, and it says everything about the students who earned it.

The National Engineering Robotics Contest pulls together some of the sharpest young minds in the country and sets them loose on hard problems in engineering, robotics, drones, and remote-controlled technology. Our students met that challenge head-on, and then some — bringing technical skill, yes, but also the creativity, teamwork, and sheer stubbornness it takes to keep going when a build won't behave.

Excellence across the board

Robotics, drone racing, RC competitions — our teams went up against institutions from all over Pakistan and came away with top honors in category after category.

Each event asked for something a little different. Some demanded clean code and steady nerves; others rewarded a fast hand on the controls or a well-designed machine that could take a beating. Autonomous systems to navigate, drones to fly at speed, RC vehicles to design and command — across all of it, our students proved a simple thing: knowledge really counts when you turn it into action.

And none of it happened overnight. Behind every clean run and every winning maneuver were long stretches of preparation — testing, troubleshooting, tearing things apart and rebuilding them, and learning the hard lessons that only come from watching something fail.

More than a trophy

Winning the overall championship is worth celebrating, no question. But the trophy is really just the visible part of something bigger.

It's the payoff of a way of learning — hands in the machine, projects that don't come with an answer key, designs that have to survive contact with reality. Competitions like NERC drop students into situations where a solution has to be tested, refined, and adapted on the spot, often with the clock running. Every challenge turns into a chance to learn something new, and every setback into a reason to come back sharper.

A victory built by a community

This championship doesn't belong to any one person. It belongs to a whole community.

It belongs to the students, who carried the Headstart name with grit and good sportsmanship. It belongs to the mentors, who pushed and steadied and stayed late through every round of preparation. And it belongs to a school community whose encouragement makes these opportunities possible in the first place. We're proud of every student who competed, every mentor who gave their time, and everyone who cheered the journey along.

So — congratulations to our NERC 2026 champions. You didn't just bring home the title. You made a little history.
