Our community outreach in Arcadia, Harare, brought together different members of society, especially young learners keen to learn more about drone technology. Over 600 members of the community were in attendance.

Our outreach aimed to educate the general public about the drone law (SI 271 of 2018 Civil Aviation Remotely Pilot Regulations 2018), inform them of the approved CAAZ drone school, expose young learners to drone technology, and encourage them to join our Holiday Clubs.

The community event had over 600 people in attendance. Forty-five percent of attendees visited our booth and engaged the team. The team skilfully navigated questions posed by those in attendance, ranging from where to fly to requirements for an RPL license. Our team had different types of drones and explained their uses, which excited the young learners.

Our youth instructors gave an overview of the various programs aimed at young learners and a demo of drones. In addition, our certified drone pilots (CAAZ RPL pilots) demystified the law and encouraged responsible drone owners. The information shared was new to most participants; however, it gave insights into the industry, including our CAAZ-approved training school, STEM programs, and drone services.

A special thanks to the Arcadia Community Outreach organizers, who held a successful event that brought the community together. If you want to know more about Zimbabwe Flying Labs' upcoming events, please contact us at zimbabwe@flyinglabs.org.
