Agabu is a lecturer at the University of Zambia (UNZA) and it is with his passion for drone technology and artificial intelligence that has made him the pioneer of such technology at this institution. He continues to advocate for the introduction of STEM education to higher learning institutions and is currently part of the team at UNZA responsible for the university’s drone lab. He is a PhD candidate at the University of Johannesburg and holds a Bachelor and a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering with practice extending more than 4 years. His experience in the industry and his love for drones has driven him to be part of the break Zambia needs to provide drone technology solutions to local problems. He has already written a number of proposals on drone technology as a solution to disaster management and agricultural crop spraying. He is one of the pioneers in the implementation of drones for spatial epidemiology in Zambia and has been working on such a project as of 2020 with the collaboration of teams from Kenya and Netherlands. He was one of the 10 finalists in the 2020 edition of Africa’s Drone Business Challenge where he represented Zambia.
