Dr. Eng. Balimu Mwiya is a Lecturer and Head of Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering under the School of Engineering at the University of Zambia, the first female to head the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Balimu has a Doctor of Philosophy in Construction Management and is also the first female Doctor of Philosophy graduate from the School of Engineering, University of Zambia. Balimu has a Master of Engineering degree in Construction Management from the University of Zambia, and an Associate degree in Software Engineering from the University of Advancing Computer Technology, Arizona, USA.
Balimu is a member of the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering and a Fellow of the Engineering Institution of Zambia.
