Flying Labs strengthen local drone, data and AI capacity for social good applications in their countries through an array of services and activities

Professional services we provide

We strengthen and enhance local capacity to local and international clients in our countries through following services. Our clients range from local communities, government agencies, non-profit organizations, research & academic institutions to international organizations and more. Occasionally, we provide services in neighboring countries that don't yet have a Flying Labs present. 

• We implement use cases for SDG-related applications, including disaster risk reduction and management, agriculture, climate action, development, health, drone entrepreneurship and more.
• We train local stakeholders to integrate drones, data and AI into their work. Trainings range from drone piloting and certification to data-acquisition, data processing and data analysis, including AI solutions for enhanced analysis.
• We provide consultancies for a wide array of topics, such as improved drone regulations and policies, local drone ecosystem analysis, hardware & software recommendations, and more.
• We document our work and learnings to create replicable use cases. We also collaborate and share our expertise, learnings and knowledge with our colleagues of 40+ countries of the Flying Labs Network. And we come together in sector expertise hubs to jointly offer our services on specific topics such as drones, data and AI for disaster, agriculture, climate and more.

Activities we lead

We build, facilitate and support a thriving local ecosystem to responsibly and sustainably localize drones, data and AI in our countries and communities through a wide variety of activities:

• We organize and participate in local and regional conferences, workshops, demos and more to share our expertise widely and convene local stakeholders.
• We help build the workforce of tomorrow and create STEM awareness through a wide variety of local youth programs.
• We organize entrepreneurship programs and competitions to contribute to a strong local drone industry.
• We advocate for local expertise as well as responsible and sustainable localization of emerging technologies.
• We document our work, experiences and learnings to allow for replication and scale of our work, both in our countries and globally.

Diversity and local agency are our strength

Each Flying Labs has full agency over their local activities and the sectors of their work, tied to one or several Sustainable Development Goals. Services provided therefore vary from country to country, as each Flying Labs freely decides what services they provide in their country, fully based on local needs and specific expertises of the local teams.
